Meet Dr. Jason Watson
As the founder of Active Health & Wellness, Dr. Jason Watson brings an analytical mindset and whole-person perspective to chiropractic care. His background in exercise physiology, training in multiple adjusting techniques, and interest in nutrition all shape the way he looks at each patient’s concerns.
From Exercise Physiology to Chiropractic
Before becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Watson earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from Boise State University. He also worked as a Cisco support engineer in telecommunications before deciding to take his career in a very different direction. That path eventually led him to Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas, where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. His education included training in nine different adjusting techniques, giving him a broad range of methods to draw from when caring for patients.
Qualifications and Training:
- Doctor of Chiropractic, Parker College of Chiropractic
- Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, Boise State University
- Licensed chiropractor in Idaho
- Trained in nine chiropractic adjusting techniques
- 300+ hours of postgraduate studies in Functional Medicine
Looking at the Whole Picture
Dr. Watson doesn’t believe in focusing only on the symptom that brought someone through the door. He looks at the bigger picture, including how the body is moving, what a patient is experiencing, and which approaches may make sense for their individual situation. “I want to look at the whole person, not just the problem that hurts today.”
Over the years, he has worked with patients dealing with concerns ranging from whiplash, sciatica, headaches, and herniated discs to scoliosis, autoimmune conditions, and neuropathy. Depending on a patient’s needs, care at the practice may include chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, soft tissue therapies, cryotherapy, and functional blood testing.
Beyond Chiropractic Adjustments
Dr. Watson’s interest in health also extends into nutrition. His approach may include nutritional protocols informed by testing, such as blood or hair analysis, when appropriate. For him, the goal is straightforward: understand what’s going on, explain the options clearly, and develop recommendations based on the person in front of him.
